UCI's McQuaid responds to Roubaix controversy

UCI president Pat McQuaid has weighed in to the debate over Sunday's disqualification of the second, third and fourth-placed riders in this year's Paris-Roubaix.

  • I find his argument specious. Either the rules are the rules and they are adhered to, or they are open to interpretation. How did they know a second train was not coming?
    I say DQ them all, or none.

    As an aside, having a potential hold up like that near the end was brain dead. I know we've seen horses and cows on the course before, but a knowable obstacle when the race could still be in question seems wrong.
